Organic fertilisation with pelleted manure
Over the past few days we have been spreading, throughout our 5 hectares of olive groves, 10 tonnes of pelleted manure produced by a factory located in our region.
This manure, allowed in organic farming, will release nutrients very slowly, thus satisfying the needs of our crop without leaching pollutants into the groundwater.
In addition, the green cover of wild plants, by absorbing and releasing nutrients, certainly contributes to buffering any excess or shortage of nutrients for our olive trees.
Another important property of the manure is the high content of organic matter, which will help improving both physical and biological soil properties.
